Orchestra Concert
(Program change announcement)

The program for Saturday April 19th,“Tokyo Opera Nomori 2008 Orchestra Concert” has been changed due to the request from the piano soloist, Mr. Yundi Li. Because of the change in the repertoire of the Piano Concerto, the overall program has been reviewed and discussed with Maestro Michael Boder, and has been changed to the following.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

I would like to take this opportunity to explain the change in the program of this concert.

Due to reasons including a change in my recording schedule, there has been a change in the original plan in which I was to play the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 in North America and elsewhere prior to this performance. Therefore, unfortunately, it will not be possible for me to prepare as much as I feel is necessary in order to perform this work in Japan. Because I would like to give the best possible performance for my audience, I have made the decision to change the program of this concert.

I was very much looking forward to playing the Tchaikovsky concerto for a Japanese audience for the first time, and I am very sorry that this could not be realized.

I would like to offer my apologies, and my sincere request for your understanding.

(Cast change announce)

Ms. Roxana Briban, who was originally announced to sing the role of Tatyana, had to retire from this engagement due to illness. Tatyana will be performed by Ms. Irena Mataeva.
